Excellence & Quality
With quality at the heart of our concerns, we offer you only the very best products. All ingredients have been selected to offer you a unique gustatory experience.
Our journey into Levantine cuisine begins in Acre, an old port city on the Mediterranean where centuries of history and oriental cuisine merge. Here we get to know Areen. Areen welcomes us to her sun-drenched café right on the historic harbor. The smell of freshly baked flatbread fills the air and we are greeted with the queen of all Levantine dishes, a bowl of hummus.
Areen leads us into her kitchen, where colorful ingredients are lined up, and she has a story to tell about each of them. For her, chickpeas are the cornerstone of Levantine cuisine. She transforms these chickpeas into the most delicious hummus in no time at all. First she sautés the cooked chickpeas with a little olive oil, then adds creamy tahini and a little lemon juice, and finally seasons it with freshly chopped garlic.
Areen doesn't need a recipe, she prepares hummus by feel. Her hummus, which she sprinkles with aromatic spices at the end, is a testament to centuries-old Levantine tradition. Simple ingredients are transformed into something extraordinary. As soon as we leave, it is clear to us that we want to take the culinary treasures of Areen's cuisine out into the world.
Back in Switzerland, we launched our "Acre's Kitchen" project to bring the flavors of Acre to the kitchens of Europe. Today, we are located in the ★★★delicatessa and are proud to offer our customers the best of Levantine cuisine. Areen's hummus is the jewel of our menu. Everyone who tries it tastes the warmth and hospitality that we have experienced at Areen in the heart of Acre. And so we can fulfill our mission of connecting cultures and continents through cuisine.
